WOLVES have turned their focus to reviving their Super League campaign after Saturday's Challenge Cup exit.

Wolves' hopes of cup glory in 2007 were ended with a 25-14 defeat at world club champions St Helens and now they are determined to end a run of eight losses in 10 games with a league victory against Wakefield at The Halliwell Jones Stadium on Sunday at 3pm.

Paul Cullen's men currently sit third bottom of Super League with 11 matches left and need a win against seventh-placed Wakefield to put them back in contention for the top six.

Cullen said: "The sense of disappointment on Saturday was absolutely massive. We don't kid ourselves, we went to St Helens to win the game.

"The goal is now very simple - to get out of the bottom four. One win hopefully gets you to the top six, two wins hopefully get you to the top four and you mount the fight from there onwards.

"We haven't lost focus, we refuse to be derailed or distracted from our goal and our mission.

"They really all are games we need to win now. The St Helens match was and not particularly for the reasons that some people might think.

"We know full well that the pressure mounts. There's no blind denial.

"We're fully aware of what our situation is and we're desperate to get some reward for all the hard work we're putting in to our training sessions and hopefully our performances."

Chris Leikvoll (Achilles) remains a doubt and Wolves will take no risks with his fitness, with Cullen expecting to name an unchanged 17.

Vinnie Anderson (back) and Stuart Reardon (knee) remain out as well as Martin Gleeson, who has now found out that his knee injury is related to bone damage rather than a ligament problem. The trio are aiming to be back for the trip to Catalans on June 30.

Brent Grose knows Wolves must maintain the intensity they showed against top two clubs Leeds and St Helens if they are to secure a win against Wakefield, who were not in action at the weekend.

He said: "That's something we've discussed, keeping the intensity there. We've done that in training. We have discussed the intensity we need to keep and keeping our focus.

"We've been determined to get a win for the last six or seven weeks and that's no different this week. We need a win and we need it sooner rather than later."
