A REWARD of £1,000 is being offered to anyone who can help locate a stolen scrambler bike.

Margaret Barratt from Grappenhall said she was disgusted to discover her son Paul's bike had been stolen just three weeks after he bought the expensive £7,000 KTM SX-F 250.

She said: "It was his first time out on the bike as it had been in the garage due to the bad weather.

"He went out for around three hours and when he came back he decided to clean it up.

"He then nipped inside the house to put on some dry clothes but while he was getting changed he heard the engine turn on – he had only been in the house for a matter of seconds.

"He ran outside and saw a man driving off – he had obviously been watching him."

At the time of the theft, the bike was securely fastened to a trailer outside the house on Mitchell Street in Stockton Heath at 8pm on Sunday, July 17.

The thief fled in the direction of Walton.
