A NEW wine bar and eatery will opening to the sound of champagne corks popping tomorrow, Friday.

The Wine Kitchen in Lymm will specialise in wines from around the world but will also offer artisan gins, cocktails and foot platters.

Owner Michael Taylor, who has lived in the village for 25 years, and his team will also be on hand to match the wines to The Cross venue's locally sourced food.

The former Lymm High School pupil said: “There is already a fabulous collection of boutique shops and independent restaurants and bars in Lymm.

"We hope that the Wine Kitchen can bring something quaint, chic and very different to the village's social scene.

"We will offer friendly advice about wine varieties and the best accompanying foods.

"We will be sourcing many of our wines from smaller, independent growers and our range will be available to take away to enjoy at home or as a special present."

Joining the business as bar and retail manager is Lorenzo Minerva. He previously worked at Piccolino’s wine bar in Stockton Heath.

Born in the Apulia region of southern Italy, Lorenzo is said to have an 'encyclopaedic knowledge of wines'.

He has also created the Wine Kitchen’s signature cocktail, called Roses of Lymm.

Lorenzo added: "The relaxed vibe around the village will compliment perfectly what we hope to achieve.

"What excites me most is being able to chat passionately with customers about fabulous wines and the best foods that will make their whole experience really special."

As well as hand-picked ranges of red, white and rosé wines, there will be Italian and British sharing boards.
