RESIDENTS strapped on their walking boots on Saturday for a stroll around the Halliwell Jones Stadium in aid of the Stroke Association.
This year's Step Out for Stroke Walk took place on Saturday June 18 with stroke survivors, family and friends completing laps of the hallowed turf.
Some stroke survivors were taking their first steps after having a stroke.
Event organiser Jane Guy said: “Strokes happen in an instant but its effects can last a lifetime – far too many people don’t understand the condition or think it will ever happen to them.
“We believe everyone affected by strokes should get the support they need to make the best possible recovery.”
