THE existing multi-storey car park in the town centre has been cordoned off as workmen prepare to demolish the site.
The site, on Academy Way, closed last Wednesday to make way for the construction of the new car park as part of the council's £107 million regeneration project.
After completion next October it will offer around 1,150 spaces on eight levels.
Construction work will start in autumn after the demolition job has finished.
