SCHOOLCHILDREN have really been using their imagination as they go for goal in our Design a Football Shirt competition.

More than 800 entries were received from primary schools across the town and judges faced an incredibly difficult decision attempting to select a final shortlist.

Warrington Guardian editor Hayley Smith said: “We have had an overwhelming response to this year’s competition and received some fantastic entries so a heartfelt thank you to all of the schools and talented pupils who participated.”

Now it is your turn to help choose our winners and pick a strip any team would be proud to wear in the European Championships in France.

There are two age groups – four to seven and eight to 11 – and the winners in each category will receive a family pass for Gulliver’s theme park and a family pass for Blue Planet Aquarium.

Plus the overall winner will secure a team football kit for their school to the value of £350, courtesy of Martin Dawes, as well as a signed shirt and two season tickets for Warrington Town Football Club.
