DOG owners across Warrington have been urged to ensure their pets do not roam freely in areas of parks where they are forbidden from entering.
Cllr Tony Higgins, executive board member for culture, leisure and community, is vowing to tackle the issue to help increase safety.
He said: "There have been complaints from concerned residents about dogs being allowed to enter play areas that are clearly sign-posted 'no dogs allowed'.
"I feel it's totally unfair on children and their accompanying adults to feel uncomfortable when accessing the play areas so I'm asking all dog walkers to ensure that their dogs are kept out of such areas.
"I realise it's sometimes difficult to stop them but we must be mindful of other users."
