BUILDING work at Warrington’s first UTC is on track for the opening date in September when the college will welcome its first students and members of staff.

From the outside, passers-by can see the images of the unique design of the building and inside the six-storey structure the classrooms, workshops and offices are being built.

But it is the panoramic views of the town from the building’s roof that have most impressed the UTC team.

Steph Hutchinson, Marketing & Employer Engagement Manager said: “Visiting the construction site at this exciting time in the build process was a real eye opener into exactly how big our college will be.

“From the top of the building the view of Warrington is vast, as it is one of tallest buildings in the area the UTC is a great vantage point to observe the town from.

“All of the floor plans and drawings we look at in the office, really came to life as we walked around the building.

“I genuinely cannot wait for the next 6 months to pass, to get to the point where we can share this fantastic facility with our students, employer partners and the local community.”

The college currently has more than 200 applications from prospective students and is recruiting staff for the next academic year.

Students interested in a career in Engineering or Science can speak to members of the UTC team in the Mike Gregory Suite at The Halliwell Jones stadium on April 14 from 10am to 12pm and 4.30pm to 6.30pm.
