HUNDREDS of fundraisers put their best foot forward to take part in a series of sporting challenges for Sport Relief.

People from across the town dug out their sports gear to raise funds to help transform the lives of people in the UK and in some of the world's poorest communities. 

Students at Lymm High School tackled a 206 mile row-a-thon on Friday with pupils rowing one mile for each country entering the Olympic Games this year.

Youngsters at St Matthew's CE Primary School in Stretton put on their running shoes for a sponsored mile, raising more than £1,620 

A team of runners – one dressed as Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean – has raised nearly £1,000 for Sport Relief, trebling their total from last year.

The group of 11 from Ombudsman services took around 45 minutes to run 8k from their Daresbury Park office to Wilderspool Business Park, raising £900 and smashing their £300 total from last year.

Youngsters at Bruche Primary School turned up for the day dressed in disco clothes as they held a danceathon.

At least one pupil at the Seymour Drive school had to be dancing at any time.
Warrington Collegiate raised £260 for Sport Relief when staff and students went head-to-head in a retro-themed sports day.

Students took on their tutors for egg and spoon, beanbag and three-legged races while the performing arts department organised a dance-a-thon as part of the fundraising.

To raise money for Sport Relief, Fircroft the global technical recruitment agency located in Birchwood, Warrington, pitted a team of managers against a team of staff to see who could cycle the furthest on an exercise bike in one hour.

The management team narrowly grabbed victory cycling a distance of 18.65 miles against the Staff team’s effort of 18.57 miles –  raising more than £215.

Fitness fanatics at a Chapelford Zumba class dressed up and raised money for Sport Relief and even had a visit from a famous double act, collecting more than £50.
