THE council has received a planning application for the Cabinet Works site – but it will only be made public once it is 'validated'.
PTS Property Services, which owns the derelict building and Garnett's water tower, on Barbauld Street, has been in discussions with planning chiefs over the matter.
A council spokesman said: "The council has received a planning application from PTS which we are reviewing to establish whether or not it can be validated.
"We will do this within a reasonable time frame. Once this has been validated then we are able to share with the public."
Plans to turn the land into a car park in 2011 caused uproar and residents remain opposed to that idea.
Last weekend emergency work was carried out at the iconic location.
And resident Chris Digata has captured brilliant drone footage over the area.
The two-minute video, which has been posted on YouTube, gives viewers a unique look at the state of the Cabinet Works site and water tower.
