THE M6 approaching Warrington has been reopened after an accident this morning, Wednesday.
But drivers are warned of long delays for motorists heading north towards Warrington.
The main carriageway was closed at 7am leaving stop-start traffic due to recovery work, oil spillage and accident work.
Two lorries were involved on the M6 northbound at junction 19 A556 (Knutsford), congestion on M6 to just before junction 18 at the A54 (Middlewich).
A trail of power steering fluid was also found on the hard shoulder, lane one and lane two across a five mile stretch between the two junctions.
The carriageway was finally reopened at 12.30pm after the road was treated with sand.
Queues of more than an hour have affected traffic driving towards Warrington, with congestion reported as far back at junction 16 at Crewe.
