FREE parking will be available in the council car parks to mark the opening of Golden Square.
Council bosses have agreed to waive the fees in the council owned town centre car parks all day next Thursday.
The car parks affected by the offer are: Golden Square, market multi-storey, Time Square, Old Road and Winwick Street.
The council has also organised a day of entertainment next Saturday, May 26.
Between 12pm and 3pm there will be free activities at Market Gate featuring children's entertainer Stevie, wandering musician Hugh Barwell and Zoots.
