WARRINGTON Wolves officially launched their 2016 kits at last Thursday’s Christmas lights switch-on and the Warrington Guardian is offering readers the chance to win one of the new shirts.

The home shirt is primarily royal blue with a primrose and white chevron, while the away shirt is a nod to the club’s heritage – featuring the original club colours of red and black to celebrate its 140th birthday.

The club was founded in the summer of 1876 by seven young men at St Paul’s Church Sunday School on Bewsey Road – just 400 metres from the future site of the Halliwell Jones Stadium.

Ashton Sims, Jack Hughes, Kevin Penny and James Laithwaite modelled the new kits at the Christmas lights switch-on on Thursday November 12.

Meanwhile, a familiar face will be returning to the Halliwell Jones Stadium in the New Year.

Legendary half back Andrew Johns will be back in Warrington on Thursday January 14 for a talk-in hosted by Brian Carney.

‘Joey’ made three appearances for the club at the end of the 2005 season including his memorable debut defeat of Leeds in front of a packed house at the Halliwell Jones Stadium, having represented Newcastle Knights, New South Wales and Australia with distinction for over a decade.

Tickets for An Audience with Andrew Johns, which kicks off at 7pm in the Martin Dawes Lounge, cost £30 including a one-course meal – tickets are available by calling 248 880.
