RENOWNED comic Jimmy Cricket will wow crowds in Orford as part of a fundraising event for a Catholic church.
The Irish star has agreed to help the St Benedict's RC Church fundraising committee in an event which starts at 7.30pm at the Irish Club on Orford Lane.
St Benedict's, on Rhodes Street, went through an extensive period of maintenance which included a £23,000 repainting.
Then priest, Father Tony Slingo, with the help of a team of parishioners, set up a fundraising committee to help fund the work.
Fundraiser Chris Sykes said: "Apart from helping us out, Jimmy is a great champion for Catholic charities."
Tickets, priced £5, are available on the door or by calling 416618.
