A CHEF who spent six years cooking for the Royal family in Dubai has given up his job to come and work in Warrington.

Ahmed Hassan left his home country, his family and friends to follow the career of his dreams in the food industry.

The 48-year-old from Lebanon was one of 15 chefs working for the Royal family Almaktoum.

Cooking for up to 200 guests on occasions, Mr Hassan prepared traditional Lebanese recipes ranging from mezza, chicken, lamb and vegetable specialities to honey and nut pastries.

And now he has landed a position as head chef at the Andalucia Restaurant in Bridge Street, after being invited to England by managing director Ali Alfakih.

He said: "I spent many very happy years working for the Royal family but it got to the stage when I felt I needed a change.

"I had visited Warrington previously to see friends. I think it is a beautiful place and I was so pleased to be given the opportunity to come and work in this area.

"I am delighted to be cooking the dishes which I prepared for the Royal family for the people of Warrington."
