A BEATLES themed ball at the Park Royal Hotel in Stretton was hailed a huge success for The Tim Parry Johnathan Ball Trust.

Guests were treated to a four-course meal, entertainment from tribute band the Mersey Beatles and a casino where they could try their hand at roulette, black jack and the crap table.

The Trust also showed a video made by young people about its work in conflict resolution, citizenship and social and moral responsibility.

Nearly £18,000 was raised, which will enable the charity to continue to expand its remit across the UK.

Co-founder and event organiser Wendy Parry added: "We are delighted with the level of support we received at this event. We had more than 250 guests from across the north west and I would like to thank them for their enthusiasm.

"We are currently delivering programmes to young people within Warrington, Cheshire, Greater Manchester and Leeds and so are making a difference to the lives of individuals, families and communities in these areas."
