FIVE people in the town backed Jurgen Klopp to become the new Liverpool manager before Betfred suspended betting.
Betfred, which has its head office in Birchwood, was the first bookmaker to suspend bets tipping former Borussia Dortmund boss Klopp to sign a deal with the Merseyside club.
Odds had been slashed on his appointment to 1/10, which forced Betfred to act.
The average amount put on each of the five bets in Warrington was £10.
Spokesman Peter Spencer said: "People in the town have been getting involved – it has been really exciting."
Betfred boss Fred Done added: "All indications are Liverpool have got their number one target so it's Klopp for the Kop!"
