MORE than 5,000 runners will be proudly clutching their half marathon medal this morning after completing the new look course.
For the first time on Sunday, participants in the English Half Marathon and 10k set off and finished at the Town Hall with the Golden Gates marking the finish line.
Runners headed out to south Warrington up to Appleton Thorn before returning to the town centre where the route took in Bridge Foot, the Halliwell Jones Stadium, Bridge Street and The Cultural Quarter before the Winmarleigh Street approach to the Golden Gates.
Our photographers Dave Gillespie and Mike Boden snapped hundreds of shots during the day so here is just a small taste of their work.
