A CONVICTED Warrington paedophile who encouraged a woman to take sleeping tablets and filmed himself raping her has had his jail term extended.

James Thrower, 42, who now lives in Leeds, admitted two counts of rape and one of sexual assault by penetration at Chester Crown Court on Tuesday, September 8.

Six years were added to an existing two-year sentence given in January for possessing nearly 250,000 indecent images of children.

Sentencing, Judge Raj Shetty said: “Why you decided these acts were acceptable can only be known by you – even more disturbing is that you were filming yourself.

“Your victim states that she is still in complete shock – she is embarrassed and ashamed although she should have no reason to.

“History confirms you have a long standing sexual interest in children and you are interested in live sexual assaults – you are dangerous.

“Despite being caught doing it once you did it again and it’s clear to me these offences caused severe psychological effects on her.”
