THE emergency 999 number is back up and running following a 'temporary glitch' in the area.
A spokesman for Cheshire Police has confirmed that certain areas of Warrington were unable to call the 999 number this afternoon but the problem was quickly resolved.
The issue was fixed after 12 minutes.
Earlier today Cheshire Police tweeted: "We are currently experiencing disruption to the 999 service in the Warrington area.
“The force is currently investigating the issue and is working hard to rectify the problem."
