A SCHOOLBOY has been taken to hospital after being hit by a car in Great Sankey this morning.
Police have confirmed that the 11-year-old was taken to hospital today, Thursday, by an ambulance with a suspected fractured cheekbone and arm.
His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
The road was closed in both directions following the incident at 8.30am near to the junction of Canons Road and Cromwell Avenue.
But the road was reopened at 9.10am.
