EVER fancied putting someone you know in the stocks?

Well now you can have the chance at Warrington Market’s Medieval Day on Saturday.

In addition to a set of public stocks, Viking long boats will be moored in Buttermarket Street and Epico the dragon will make Time Square his lair.

Shoppers will be able to shoot a real knight in armour using a bow and arrow or cross bow and knights on horseback will invade the streets of Warrington town centre.

Cllr Mike Hannon said: “This event is being organised to highlight that Warrington Market has been in the town since 1255 and remains fully open for business during the redevelopment works currently taking place to create a new market hall in Time Square.

“At no time will the market close and traders will move into the new market in Spring 2017.

“The stocks are great fun and add something different to the usual shopping experience – don’t forget to bring a camera.”

The event will run between 10am and 4pm.
