THE fountain and skittles at Market Gate will remain cordoned off to the public until into next week.
The area was fenced off on Tuesday prior to improvements to the lighting in the fountain taking place.
Officially known as the guardians, the controversial installation was designed by American artist Howard Ben Tre and has become a popular meeting point in the town centre.
A spokesperson from Warrington Borough Council said: “We are currently undertaking some improvements to the fountain at Market Gate, including enhancing the lighting with a new low energy and efficient system.
“We ask the public to bear with us until the work on this popular part of the town centre is completed next week.”
