HE is the little former Leeds fan who has touched hundreds of primrose and blue hearts.

And now dedicated Warrington Wolves fan Kayden Rodd is set to get the surprise of his life when he walks the team out ahead of the Challenge Cup semi-final.

The four-year-old, who has autism, switched allegiances after hearing Wire fans singing during last year's Magic Weekend but mum and Leeds season ticket holder Michelle says she does not mind after a 'lovely gesture' from Warrington fans.

The 35-year-old, from Dewsbury, added: "He usually hates noise but last year at the Magic Weekend in Manchester he loved the atmosphere with the Warrington fans and was always singing the 'Allez, allez, allez, oh' song.

"A year on at the Magic Weekend in Newcastle all he wanted to do was watch Warrington play and sing with their fans but unfortunately it wasn't to be and we had to take him to the medical room at St James' Park where he was quite ill.

"There was a group of Warrington fans in front of us that did everything they could to help my family that day and one of them even missed some of the game to check on Kayden and said to him: 'If you come to another game little man I promise we will sing your favourite song'."

Michelle emailed the club to thank them for having such thoughtful fans and could not believe it when they were invited to attend the Catalan game and Kayden carried out the coin toss.

Michelle added: "He absolutely loved the game and the atmosphere and wouldn't take the shirt off the club had given to him.

"He's now adamant he's a Warrington fan and will sit by the washing machine until his shirt is clean.

"We went to the Leeds v St Helens game and he told me he was an away fan now so he wanted to sit with the Saints fans and last weekend his sister Megan was raising cash for charity during the mini marathon and Kayden decided he wanted to give the money raised to the Warrington Wolves Foundation.

"As long as he's happy I don't mind and it was just amazing the way he smiled when he went to the Warrington game."

A post on Facebook from Kayden's mum thanking the club has since gained hundreds of likes on Facebook with many fans keen to say hello to the youngster before the next home game.

But Michelle's only request is that supporters do not spoil the surprise Kayden will be mascot for the Challenge Cup game.

She added: "Everyone at the club has been outstanding but if we tell Kayden now he won't sleep for weeks so we're keeping it a big secret."
