THE Cheshire pilot of a light aircraft died on Tuesday after his microlight plummeted from the sky over rural Nantwich.
The aircraft crash-landed in a cornfield near to Worleston at around 4.45pm after taking off from Lymm.
Emergency services were called to the scene but could not help the Wilmslow pilot, who has not yet been named but is believed to be in his fifties.
Farm owner Fred Percival said: "I believe he had taken off from Lymm, had landed at the farm and was going back to Lymm when the accident happened."
