RESIDENTS have until next Monday to tell the Local Government Boundary Commission for England (LGBCE) where they think new ward boundaries should be drawn up across the town.

The independent commission is carrying out an electoral review of Warrington and is asking those living here for their views on new ward arrangements before drawing up its recommendations.

The LGBCE will consider all views put to it during the consultation and aims to publish draft recommendations in August.

In May, the commission agreed that the council should have 58 councillors, one more than it currently has.

It is now aiming to draw up ward boundaries to ensure each of those councillors represent a similar number of voters and that the new wards reflect the interests and identities of local communities.

Max Caller, LGBCE chairman, said: "We will consider every submission we receive from local people before we draw up draft recommendations.

"We will then open another phase of consultation on those proposals in August.

"Don’t miss this chance to have your say on how your council is run."
