THIS week in YesterYears we take a look at what Warrington Walking Day looked like more than 100 years ago.
This year's traditional procession through the town centre takes place on Friday.
But this rare picture shows walkers involved in the 1909 event.
Interestingly this was the first time all denominations - Church of England, Roman Catholic and others - took part in the same route.
It was not until 1920 that all the churches would meet on the Town Hall lawn for a joint service before starting the walk.
