Book

Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafron

I love this book, it’s a story about a boy who discovers a forgotten book and develops an obsession with its author. It’s just so beautifully written. I’ve never been to Barcelona but reading that book really makes me feel like I’m there.

Film

The Producers

It’s a film about a failed Broadway producer and his accountant who cook up a plan to make a fortune but, of course as with every farce, things don’t quite go to plan.

For me, it has to be the original 1968 one though. Mel Brooks is a comedic genius and I think this is his funniest film. Gene Wilder is hilarious as Leo Bloom too.

TV show

Modern Family

It’s a sitcom about three different but related families. It’s such great laugh-out-loud, funny TV.

Phil (Ty Burrell) is the funniest dad character in sitcom history. And the fact that I can watch it with the kids too is a bonus.

Warrington Guardian:

Actor

Denzel Washington

Star of Training Day, American Gangster, Man On Fire and Inside Man, he’s just an acting god. He’s brilliant in absolutely everything he does.

Warrington Guardian:

Album

Johnny Cash's American Recordings

Johnny Cash was my nana’s favourite singer so I grew up listening to his music. He’s such a talented musician.

This album of his is my favourite. It’s just an old man singing his favourite songs and there’s something really beautiful about that.
