A MARKS and Spencer food hall is set to replace the Co-operative’s Stockton Heath store in The Forge.
Details on when the move will take place are yet to be released.
“We are looking to bring an M&S food hall to Stockton Heath and have reached an agreement with the Co-operative for its store at The Forge,” said a M&S spokesman.
“We look forward to bringing our outstanding quality, innovative food to the area and will confirm more details soon.”
The Co-operative has said the sale of the store is part of its long-term national plan.
A spokesman added: "I can confirm the sale of our store in Stockton Heath to Marks and Spencer.
"The Co-operative Group’s strategy will see us continue to invest in the portfolio through the acquisition of 100 new convenience stores this year.
"This approach includes selling a number of larger stores as we focus on our core convenience estate."
It is believed the change will take place in July.
