A CULCHETH councillor has become the youngest parish council chairman in Warrington's history.
Cllr Chris Vobe, who represents Newchurch on Culcheth and Glazebury Parish Council, has been elected as chairman.
The 25-year-old, who is also a borough councillor for Culcheth, Glazebury and Croft, has also decided not to wear the traditional chains of office, preferring to carry out his role 'without ceremony'.
He said: "It is a privilege to be elected as chairman of Culcheth and Glazebury Parish Council.
"I grew up here, and am immensely proud of our community. I will represent the villages to the best of my ability over the next 12 months, and work hard alongside my colleagues to ensure that the parish council continues to provide a high standard of service for all residents.”
Glazebury and Mee Brow parish councillor Joan Grime was elected as deputy chair.
