THE Force was strong in Warrington as Darth Vader and his stormtroopers descended on the town
Crowds packed into Warrington Market for a Comic Con style event on Saturday.
Market manager Steve Pickering said: "One of the most popular features was being able to sit in an X-Wing from Star Wars. The queues were like Alton Towers.
"It was really nice seeing the amount of people who came to the event. The market traders said they have never seen it as busy as that."
Other highlights included the chance to see the DeLorean DMC-12 from Back to the Future, the Batpod from The Dark Knight, Titan, an 8ft robot, and Doctor Who characters.
Visitors were also encouraged to dress as their heroes.
Steve added: "The cosplay photos on our Facebook page have been like 'Where's Wally?' with everyone trying to pick themselves out.
"This was a first for us and we see huge potential for spin-off events in the future."
- Due to popular demand, the X-Wing and Disney's Frozen sisters will return as part of Warrington Market's food festival on Saturday.
