FORMER Culcheth resident Andy Burnham has thrown his hat into the ring for the job of Labour leader.
The Leigh MP, who was brought up in Culcheth and still has family members in the area including his brother who is a teacher in Birchwood, has been strongly tipped for the top role since Ed Miliband stepped down following a disastrous General Election campaign for the party.
Mr Burnham posted on his Twitter page this evening why he was standing in a Youtube clip.
