WARRINGTON Wolves star Anthony England joined the rugby league family in reaching for the clippers to have his beard shaved to help raise cash in memory of Danny Jones.

The Keighley Cougars half back suffered a suspected cardiac arrest during a game against the London Skolars last Sunday and later died in hospital.

The 29-year-old was married and had five-month-old twins.

After the sad news broke, former Warrington player Tyrone McCarthy posted on Twitter if fans could raise £25,000 on a Justgiving site raising cash for the RFL Benevolent Fund, he would shave off his beard and called on other players to do the same.

Players have smashed the target, with over £95,000 raised already from 5,594 donations.

Prop England had his beard shaved off at the Original Barbershop in Stockton Heath on Friday.

Earlier in the week teammate Roy Asotasi also got the treatment of the clippers for the cause.
