Chris Evans will host a concert marking the 70th anniversary of VE Day next month.
The Warrington-born presenter will helm the event which will take place on Saturday May 9 and feature performances by Alfie Boe (pictured below), Status Quo and Dad’s Army star Ian Lavender. It willl be broadcast on BBC One and Radio 2.
Other performers include Britain’s Got Talent winners Diversity, Jamelia, Katherine Jenkins and Pixie Lott.
The event, called VE Day 70: A Party To Remember, is being held at Horse Guards Parade in central London.
VE Day marked the end of the Second World War in Europe and the anniversary is being marked across the country over three days.
Other events include a reception for 2,000 veterans in St James’s Park, London, a service of remembrance at The Cenotaph and a service of thanksgiving will be held at Westminster Abbey.
