WE know we have to get up pretty early to catch out our readers.

So rather than rack our brains for an April Fool which involves sharks swimming under Bridge Foot or fossils found under Time Square, we thought instead we would compile some of our favourites that have been sent to us this week.

Which is your favourite? And let us know if you have been caught out this morning.

1. Ferry company introduces water ski crossings (Although we actually hope this isn't an April Fool!)

Wightlink Ferries has launched Water Ski crossings from Portsmouth Harbour to Ryde Pier on the Isle of Wight.

The latest offering for thrill seekers heading to the Isle of Wight for action packed adventure holidays has been introduced in advance of the Isle of Wight’s Action Month.

The newest addition to Wightlink’s product portfolio will allow experienced water ski and wakeboarders the opportunity to take to the waves from the back of its two fastest Catamaran vessels, as they sail their regular 20 minute journey across the Solent. Sailing at speeds of up to 23 knots, skiers are sure to be tested to their limits with this adrenaline-fueled, 3 mile ride to the Isle of Wight.

And with the Catamaran being significantly larger than the standard speedboat, up to 12 skiers will be able to ride the wake at any one time.

2. Fancy an icy game of roulette?

Following extensive research into the effects of cold temperatures on player performance, Gala Casino have released never-before-seen blue print plans for the first ever casino made entirely from ice.

With a classic Igloo outer shell design, the building houses all the usual casino games, but in a temperature of -5 they all have a freezing cold twist.

The Gala Ice Casino will house a number of features designed to help players keep their cool. All roulette, poker and Blackjack tables, chairs and drinking glasses will be made from ice. Even the chips and dice will be carved from ice, with a full time sculptor creating these at regular intervals each night behind the scenes.

3. Nelson's Column on the move

Plans are underway for Trafalgar Square’s iconic Nelson’s Column to be relocated to the North Norfolk coast in time for the 210th anniversary of the death of the region’s most famous son.

It is hoped the delicate work of removing Nelson’s Column section by section will begin after the Easter holidays and installed by 21st October – the 210th anniversary of his death.

4. Wowee zowee

A dairy calf resembling a zebra has been born on an RSPCA Freedom Food farm to the amazement of a West Sussex farmer.

The one-day-old ‘zow’ calf - aptly named ‘Daizee’ by farmer Imes Demmiks - was born on Taf Lluf farm, Horsham, West Sussex.

5. Wake up and smell the coffee

Coffee shop Costa is trialing a new service from April that lets customers nod off and have a power nap when they hit an afternoon slump.

With sales figures highest between 3:00pm and 4:00pm, the time when people are most in need of a coffee ‘pick-me-up’, Costa is offering customers a chance to book a 15-minute snooze.

Specially imported, Japanese inspired Ostrich Pillows will turn tables into relaxation zones. Customers will be able to place their coffee order, let staff know what time to wake them using the specially designed table clocks and take a nap, before being gently nudged back into consciousness by a friendly Barista with their favourite Costa drink.
