A MAN in his early 30s was rushed to hospital after he was knocked unconscious during a night out in the town centre on Monday morning.

The victim was taken via ambulance to hospital but, following a CT scan, walked out without undergoing further tests.

It is not believed his injuries were life-threatening.

A man in his 20s has since been arrested on suspicion of GBH following the attack just off Bridge Street at 2am.

He has since been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
