TWO fundraising events are being held to help a terminally-ill mum raise money for a cancer treatment that could give her extra time with her children.

Vicky Lowe (formerly Kinder) was given the all clear from cervical cancer after being diagnosed in August 2013 but was given the devastating news in June 2014 that the cancer had spread to her bones.

She was told that she was now terminal but wants to raise at least £15,000 to pay for treatment in Germany that could give her a few more precious years with her four children.

So far, Vicky, who is from Warrington but currently lives in Colwyn Bay, has raised £3,800 and is hoping to fly out to Germany on April 27.

She said: “There is no cure for bone cancer, not in this country.

“I have had six rounds of chemotherapy and I will need more and I am waiting to have radiotherapy on my rib.

“I haven’t got a clue how long having this treatment could give me but there have been stories of people being cancer free after it.

“I just want to see my little girl grow up.”

Vicky, whose youngest Charlie is only aged one, has a tumour in her back, nodes on her lungs, a tumour in her pelvic bone which has also cracked and a tumour in her 11th rib at the back.

To help her reach her target, a fashion show is being held at St Benedict’s Social Club in Warrington on April 11 from 7pm.

A family fun day is also being held on April 12 at 1430 Centre Park Boulevard, Warrington, from noon until 5pm where there will be games, a special guest and children’s entertainer.

Tickets are £10 for the fashion show including a buffet and are available from Leanne Fitzsimons by calling 07921 251938 or emailing leanne.fitzsimons@gmail.com.
