A TERMINALLY-ill mum has launched an appeal to the raise money she needs for treatment that could give her a few more precious years with her children.

Vicky Lowe (formerly Kinder) was diagnosed with cervical cancer in August 2013 just weeks after having her fourth child Charlie but was told that it was curable.

After treatment, she was given the all clear but in June 2014 doctors discovered a tumour in her back and she was told the devastating news that the cancer had spread to her bones and was now terminal.

But a friend, whose daughter Molly Beechall died in January after battling bone cancer, told her about clinics in Germany that offer cancer treatments not available in the UK which could prolong her life.

"They found the tumour in my back and I also have nodes on my lungs but they are shrinking, a tumour in my pelvic bone which has also cracked and a tumour in my 11th rib at the back" Vicky, aged 39.

"I have been told it is terminal because they is no cure available in this country.

"My daughter is only two so it is all quite scary."

Vicky, who is also mum to 20-year-old Christopher, Lucy, aged 19, and 14-year-old Billy, grew up in Warrington but moved to Colwyn Bay to be near her sister when she was diagnosed.

She used to work at Florista in Padgate before opening her own florists Anthurium in Woolston but had to give up work as the cancer in her pelvic bone means she has difficulty with her mobility.

"I have never asked anyone for anything before but I won't give up until I have got myself to Germany, no matter what," Vicky said.

"I don't know how long extra the treatment could give me but even if it is just two or three years that is an extra few with my little girl.

"I haven't asked how long I have if I don't have the treatment because I would rather not know but I will keep going as long as I can."

With the friends and family, Vicky is organising several fundraising events including a firewalk and abseiling. She has set a target of £15,000 but does not yet know what the full cost of the treatment could be.
