1. Ken will be sharing a stage with Warrington's British Sign Language Signing Choir. They will be signing along to his signature song, Happiness.
He said: "They can communicate the words of a song through sign language which is wonderful. I’m fascinated by the brilliant skill these people have."
2. After 60 years in showbusiness, the comedian still suffers from stage fright.
Ken said: "You talk yourself into a state of terror but you’ve got to do it. Something inside you says: ‘Get on there and do it’."
3. He dislikes cringe comedy like The Office.
The Knotty Ash legend said: "You shouldn’t need to squirm with an audience to make them laugh. That’s barmy. My job is to make people feel good and feel happy."
4. Ken topped the bill for the first time in Warrington in 1957 at the Royal Court Theatre.
He said: "It was the first time I ever topped a bill and saw my name in big letters."
5. And despite being 87 retirement – as ever – is a dirty word to Ken.
Ken said: "While I’m blessed with the ability to do it, I will do it and that’s it."
- Ken brings his Happiness Show to the Parr Hall this Saturday. To read our interview with the veteran comic pick up this week's Warrington Guardian.
