A GROUP of singing superstars have been hitting the high notes after swapping Warrington for Weatherfield.
Youngsters from St Monica's Primary School choir in Appleton were invited to perform carols on the cobbles on the set of Coronation Street two days before Christmas.
Led by mum from the school Donna-Marie Povey, who is a classical singer, the choir take famous pop music tracks and perform it in their own classical style from Metallica to Mozart and Garfunkel to Guetta.
Mrs Povey said: "Invitations are pouring in for the choir to sing all over the north west including at the Golden Square and also with the Warrington Male Voice Choir.
"These children and their angel voices even stop busy shoppers in their tracks and make them cry."
She added everyone enjoyed the trip to Weatherfield and she was very proud of their performance.
