FLOODS of loyal Union J fans descended on Morrisons supermarket today, Wednesday, to catch a glimpse of the famous four-piece, who stormed onto the music scene two years ago.

Screams of excitement echoed around the shop aisles as the band stepped foot into the store off Wilderspool Causeway to complete the signing of their new record, titled You Got It All – The Album.

Eager fans had arrived as early as 10.30am to make sure they didn't miss the chance to meet the band, which is made up of Josh Cuthbert, JJ Hamblett, Jaymi Hensley and George Shelley.

Pride of Britain winner Ted McCaffery, from Stockton Heath, and his trusty sidekick Rufus were one of the first to rub shoulders with band.

Mum Jo said this tops off an ‘unbelievable’ year for the family.

She added: “Ted has had some lovely experiences. It was so nice that the band recognised Ted from the Pride of Britain awards.”

Sixteen-year-old Ellie Connerty was one of the first in queue after travelling from Liverpool to meet the foursome, arriving not long after 10.30am.

She said: "They are just perfect. I have been following them since they were on The XFactor."

Mum of ten Sam Higgins from Padgate braved the cold weather so two of her daughters could meet their music idols face-to-face.

Her daughter, Rachel, aged nine, said: "I'm really excited. I have never met them before."

Speaking before the signing, JJ said it was amazing to see the amount of fans that had turned out to see them.

He said: “It’s special for us because these fans mean everything to us.

“Without them we wouldn’t be doing what we’re doing and in the position we are in now.

“It’s a massive hats off to them for being such great fans.”

Describing the past few years, JJ said it has been a ‘rollercoaster’ but was excited to see what the new year will bring for the band.

“It has been a crazy and amazing journey. This is what we have dreamt of and we are living our dream. Not many people get to do that,” he added.
