EVERYONE remembers their favourite teacher and here is one woman who is clearly going to be unforgettable to her pupils in the years to come.

Jacqui Boyle, who is no stranger to the classroom after having spent the best part of a quarter of a century working with children, has been crowned the Warrington Guardian’s teacher of the month.

The surprise announcement in front of her pupils and colleagues came as a complete shock to Mrs Boyle - if her expression was anything to go by.

Following the revelation, the Chapelford Village Primary School teacher from Woolston said she was 'overwhelmed' to receive the award.

The mum of two, who was hailed as an inspiration to her pupils as she always goes above and beyond what is expected, said:  “I was a teaching assistant for 12 years before qualifying as a higher level teaching assistant and then I became a teacher and I just absolutely love it.

“It’s all about making it enjoyable for the children and the best part is seeing them progress.

“Seeing the children appreciate what you do and watching them believe in themselves is why I enjoy it.”

The year three teacher, who worked as a teaching assistant at Locking Stumps Primary School, also admitted that the children never fail to put a smile on her face.

“When we had anti-bullying week, one child asked when uncle-bullying week is?” laughed Mrs Boyle, who said that she could not fault the child’s logic.

Determined to arm children with the skills they need to have the best possible start in life, Mrs Boyle added that she couldn’t imagine doing anything else.

Each month, the Warrington Guardian celebrates the hard work, dedication and achievements of one deserving teacher in the town.

The award, which is sponsored by education recruitment and training consultancy Academics Ltd, honours a teacher who has made a real difference to the school community.
