THE BT team in Warrington left with ringing in their ears but a smile on their faces on Friday after taking £73,000 in donations through calls.

Workers at the centre on the Gemini Retail Park manned the phones from 6.45pm to 12.30pm as part of Children in Need.

But that’s not all.

The team also rallied together to raise thousands of pounds by organising fundraisers throughout the event including a cake sale, a raffle and a charity back wax.

Jayne Sudworth said: “We had a great night. It was very busy but everyone pulled together to make it a great success.”

Jayne would also like to thank the businesses in the town that helped make their fundraising efforts a success.

These included Life Changing Fitness, Bombay 8, The Cutting Room in Widnes, O’Neills Hair and Beauty Salon in Penketh, Pizza Hut, Nando’s, Waterfields and Frog.

She added: “Marks and Spencer very kindly let us dress up as Pudsey and walk round the store for two days and we raised around £400 in just a few hours from kind-hearted shoppers.”
