F at Cheshire Dogs Home in Grappenhall are in urgent need of blankets, washing powder, beds and tinned dog food after a blaze swept through Manchester Dogs Home last night.
Around 100 dogs have been taken to the centre on Knutsford Road, after more than 40 were killed in the fire.
Staff have been incredibly busy at the Grappenhall centre so to help them we are calling on readers to hand in blankets and dog food at our office on Bridge Street.
We will then take the collection over to Cheshire Dogs Home to give staff more time to help the dogs currently housed at the centre.
A spokesman added: "It's been very stressful but our fosterers and a lot of other charities and businesses in the town have been offering lots of help.
"Some of the dogs seemed a bit dazed and it must be very confusing for them but the vets at our Cheshire site are brilliant and staff are doing a great job."
To donate to the cause, visit www.justgiving.com/dogshome or to donate tinned food, washing powder, beds or blankets, please hand them in to our office on 138 Bridge Street in the town centre.
A 15-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of arson in connection to the incident.
Some 60 dogs are now confirmed to have died in the fire.
