Youth group’s
graffiti tribute
ARTY youngsters have created art to mark the centenary of the First World War.
Members of the Orford Park youth group, which meets on Friday nights, created graffiti art based on the 100th anniversary.
Teaming up with youth workers from Warrington Borough Council, the main messages the group wanted to include was ‘don’t forget’ the sacrifice previous generations have made along with the symbol of the poppy because that is what they think of when discussing fallen and injured soldiers.
The work is now on display at Orford Youth Base.
Clr Jean Carter, executive board member for children and young people’s services, said: “These youth groups are a great way of getting young people involved in community activities and it’s lovely for them to be able to see their work on display.”
