A WARRINGTON chippy has been battering the competition in a takeaway fish and chip shop of the year competition and has now been named in north west England’s top six.

Papa’s Fish & Chips, on School Brow near the town centre, is hoping to take the crown in the 2015 ‘National fish and chip awards’, organised by Seafish.

To reach this stage of the competition, shops have had to fry at the top of their game and have been judged by industry experts and visited by a mystery diner.

The shops are all assessed on criteria which includes product quality, sustainable sourcing, marketing and customer service.

Winners will be announced early next year.

No idea how this shop has managed to get into the top 6 in the north west, it's not even in the top 6 in Warrington, which in itself is remarkable given how poor fish & chip shops are in the town. Style over substance.

Well, I ate from there just yesterday, the chips were just right and the piece of cod was good enough for Jehovah.
No complaints from me then, an occurrence in itself...
