A WOOLSTON-BASED business has been appointed by the Ministry of Defence to provide protective covers for a range of military vehicles as they are withdrawn from Afghanistan.

Stuart Canvas, on Hardwick Grange, is a leading manufacturer of bespoke commercial and industrial covers and has agreed a contract for more than 400 armoured vehicles as they transit back to and are safely stored in the UK.

Ed Stoddart, CEO of Stuart Canvas, said: “We are proud to have been selected to support the MoD in this significant programme.

“Our team in Warrington has designed and manufactured bespoke covers for each vehicle so that they can be quickly and easily protected from environmental damage and yet are easy to access when needed.”
