IT was a busy day for Cheshire Fire Service on Saturday after firefighters tackled a spate of blazes across the town.

Two fire crews rushed to Dudley Street following reports of a wheelie bin blaze outside a flat at 5.30am.

The fire was extinguished using a hose reel jet and an investigation is currently underway into what started the fire.

Firefighters were also called to a garage fire on Longshaw Street at 2.45pm and a rubbish fire on Calgarth Avenue at 4.45pm.

Fire crews used a hose reel jet to fight the fires.
