Why are we using tax payers money to fund an air ambulance for injuries which are not serious?

I'm guessing it wasn't known at the time that the injuries weren't serious, any head injury will be classed as serious untill examined at hospital.

I don't get that we know the exact time and location of the crash, the age of the cyclist, the fact he (so also the sex...) wasn't wearing a helmet, the number of air and land ambulances involved - BUT there's no info on this second person "involved" in the crash? Was he run off the road? Were two people injured? Why don't the authorities, who know so much else about the drash, know?

we know all the facts of the first person as he was still there when the police and ambulance turned up, there is no info on the second guy because he obviously wasn't at the scene when the police and ambulance turned up, so the information wouldn't be available hence the quote "no more details at this time." as they have no other information.

The Air Ambulance isn't run by tax payers money. It's a charity which is absolutely disgusting! It survives on donations. How can that be justified when they do such a fantastic job.
