THE decision to close Stockton Heath Recycling Centre is set to go before councillors on Thursday.
Liberal Democrat councillors led by Clr Peter Walker called in the decision taken last month to close the Sandy Lane centre as part of a new recycling centre management contract.
The move has led to uproar from residents in South Warrington with more than 600 people signing a petition against the closure.
The council’s scrutiny committee will discuss the matter at a meeting and a report into the decision suggests councillors do not take any action.
